Meet Friday at 6pm at Faith UMC and Pick on Sunday at Noon at Faith UMC

Winter Retreat 2024 at Gretna Glen - Youth should bring:

Bible
1 sleeping bag
1 pillow
1 pair flip flops good for showers
1 pair sneakers / hiking boots -- for outdoor activities
Snow Boots (depending on weather)
2 pair of jeans/pants
2 warm shirts and t-shirts (layering is helpful)
3 pair underwear and socks
Pajamas (or shorts and t-shirt)
1 or 2 sweatshirts or jackets
1 winter coat

Ditty Bag: deodorant, soap, shampoo/conditioner, brush, toothbrush and toothpaste, towel, washcloth, personal hygiene products
hat, gloves, scarf
pen and notebook (for lessons)
flashlight and batteries
water bottle
sunglasses
medication (given to a leader as appropriate with specific instructions written down as far as amount/time to be given, etc.)

Schedule and Basic Rules:

Each youth should pay $60 for the trip. The rest of the money for the trip will come out of the Youth Budget. This money covers cabins, food, and programming.
Youth will stick with the group all weekend and let us know if you need anything--it is a small group so this will be easy.
Girls will be in a cabin with a female staff member from Gretna Glen or female leaders from another church.
There will be meals on Satruday and Breakfast on Sunday and everyone will take a turn reporting to the dining hall ahead of time to set up for those meals.
Youth must stay in groups of at least three at all times and must let your leaders know where you are going and when you’ll be back.
No non-Christian music is permitted; No drugs, alcohol, or tobacco; no fireworks or weapons, and no offensive clothing or reading material.
You should plan to spend time communicating and having fun with their peers and the leaders this weekend. So, excess use of cell phones and earbuds for music will not be acceptable and will be addressed at the discretion of youth leaders.
Any youth who misbehaves, or fails to listen to an adult leader will (at the discretion of the youth director and chaperones) be required to have a parent come and pick them up.
Youth are required to demonstrate a Christian attitude of love, graciousness, and helpfulness in order to make this trip a great one.
